• The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a marine forecast indicating strong winds and elevated seas in the coastal waters from Pascagoula, Mississippi, to the Atchafalaya River, Louisiana.
• A high-pressure system will maintain relatively calm conditions through Thursday, but a strong cold front is expected to move through late Friday into Saturday.

Impact & Risks

The forecasted strong winds and high seas pose significant risks to small craft and marine operations. Northerly winds could reach 25 to 35 knots, with gusts up to 45 knots in some areas. Seas are expected to build to 9–13 feet (2.7–4 meters), occasionally reaching 17 feet (5.2 meters) in offshore waters. These conditions will make navigation hazardous, particularly for smaller vessels. Dense fog is also expected in some areas, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of maritime accidents.
